It's hard to say what exactly went wrong between Marvel Studios and Hugo Weaving, but the actor has no desire to work with them again regardless. As anxious as fans may be to see the Red Skull return after his big screen debut in Captain America: The First Avenger, Weaving has made it known that he will only reprise the role if Marvel forces him to. They could do that because he signed a multi-picture deal, but it's hard to imagine that they would want him back at this stage. Reading between the lines of his comments, it's clear that The Matrix star did not enjoy working with Marvel. Perhaps he hated the prosthetics or the comic book genre isn't for him, but either way, Marvel did something to upset him!
