Of course, if Marvel want to go down the betrayed friend route, but avoid Harry Osborn then they should look no further than Eddie Brock.

It has been well documented how Sony and Raimi dropped the ball with Venom in Spider-Man 3 (the less said about it the better), and if there ever was a time to bring Eddie Brock back into the fold it would be now.

Brock is arguably Spider-Man’s most popular villain, and Raimi’s rendition is still a bitter pill to swallow, so it’s about time Marvel and Sony sorted that mess out and gave the character the story he deserves.

Aaron Tveit is another underrated talent who Marvel should definitely consider for Eddie Brock. The American star came to prominence for his memorable role in Les Misérables as Enjolras and has since taken up a leading role in Graceland, showcasing a lot of qualities that would make him an excellent choice – apart from the obvious ‘looks the part’ reason.

With the Spider-Man franchise back on track, the hotly anticipated Venom solo outing will definitely be on Sony and Marvel’s radar and who knows, maybe Spider-Man finds the symbiote during the Infinity Wars.
