10 Plot Holes Everyone Ignores In Pixar Movies

5. Mixed Up Dates - Monsters, Inc./University

Monsters, Inc.'s plot hole technically wasn't actually a plot hole until Pixar released the prequel, Monsters University. Centering around the exploits of monsters Mike and Sully - superbly voiced by Billy Crystal and John Goodman - the original is still one of the best Pixar films of all time. Monsters, Inc. hints at the main characters' background when Mike says to Sully, €œYou€™ve been jealous of my looks ever since 4th grade, pal€. But as you learn in the prequel, the two only meet for the first time when they start their course at university. Director Dan Scanlon responded to this plot hole saying that ultimately they decided to have them meet in college so that viewers could watch their relationship evolve on screen. It's unlikely that Pixar will pull a George Lucas and remove the line from the original film.
