And finally, it's a return to Captain America for the final plot point Wonder Woman pinched from Marvel.

Wonder Woman is centered around the budding romance between Diana and Steve, which turns to heartbreak when he gives her a tender send-off before getting in a plane and sacrificing himself for the greater good.

Similarly, Captain America ends with Steve having a poignant final chat with Peggy as he pilots Red Skull's plane into the ice. Both movies essentially end with their heroes lamenting the passage of time and their duties getting in the way of romance, and they both manage to pull it off surprisingly affectingly.
