10 Popular Songs You Didn't Know Were Written Solely For Movies

6. Help! - The Beatles

Written For: Help! (1965)

The Beatles starred in five feature films over the course of six years, with some of their best work stemming from these films. So much so that A Hard Day's Night, Help!, Magical Mystery Tour, Yellow Submarine and Let It Be (to an extent) are all technically soundtrack albums.

Written by John Lennon about his increasing alienation of fame, Help! became the title track of the group's second film, following The Fab Four as they travel around the world trying to foil a cult that are set out to kill Ringo Starr.

An amusing comedy, this film also spawned Ticket To Ride and Yesterday, which along with Help!, remain amongst the most popular singles the group have released.
