10 Possible Looks For Jared Leto's Joker

How the hell do you follow Heath Ledger?

The Joker is one of the most recognisable and iconic villains in comic books, and actors like Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger have ensured that he's also one of cinema's most memorable bad guys too. In 2016's Suicide Squad and beyond, it will fall to Academy Award winning actor Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club) to offer a new take on the classic Batman foe. Both Suicide Squad director David Ayer and Leto himself have been teasing the actor's transformation via their respective social media accounts, but an official look at The Joker has yet to be revealed (and probably won't be until after production begins next month). His appearance will have already been decided though, but just how closely will the newly formed DC Cinematic Universe stick to the comic books? Since being introduced in 1940, The Joker has gone through a number of transformations, and any one of them could be what ends up making it onto the big screen next year. Which would best suit Leto and why? Here, you'll find ten of the most iconic and obscure looks of the Clown Prince of Crime from the last 75 years or so, along with an explanation of why they worked in the comic books/video games and how that could translate to Suicide Squad and beyond with Leto.
