The "Endgame" storyline in Batman's monthly series has raised some very interesting questions about The Joker's past, including the fact that he might be some sort of immortal who has been causing chaos in Gotham for centuries. To suit the darker tone of this twisted take, writer Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo have given The Joker something of a makeover, and it's a look which would actually be perfectly suited to a movie. The flamboyant and brightly coloured suits have been toned down somewhat, but it's his face which is most interesting. His hair is shorter and generally more contemporary, while the pupils of his eyes are tiny and bloodshot. The Joker's trademark smile is still there, but a little less exaggerated, and his teeth are slightly yellowed and disgusting looking. This is the kind of look for the villain which would freak people out, and that's no bad thing.
