1. Something New
While all of Harley Quinn's comic book, cartoon, and video game appearances have something that David Ayer could borrow from for Suicide Squad, it wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing for the movie to create something entirely new. Calling Harley's look "iconic" would be something of an overstatement, so Ayer definitely has a lot of freedom to play around with that to find the right costume and make-up for the sultry Margot Robbie. There were rumours that the members of the Suicide Squad won't have costumes, so it could be that Robbie doesn't end up wearing a red and black corset or having brightly coloured hair. That would obviously be a little disappointing, but seeing as Harley is a character who has been portrayed in a very cartoonish manner over the years, she's one of only a handful of comic book villains that will greatly benefit from a "realistic" makeover!
