Last summer, it was announced that Galaxy Quest director, Dean Parisot, would take on the challenge of helming the third installment of the long dormant Bill & Ted franchise. Since then, there has been little word on the sequel, but earlier this year, stars Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter both reasserted their desire to bring a new installment to the cult classic franchise. The Bill & Ted series has always had more fun with time travel than most other films of the subgenre, whether that be the history project hijinks and zany mall/water park montages of Excellent Adventure, or the evil robot Bill and Teds, good robot Bill and Teds and board games with Death of Bogus Journey. A franchise so willing to poke fun at the possibilities of time travel lends itself well to a collection of ideas for sequels. So, dudes, without further ado, here are 10 speculative Bill & Ted 3 narratives.
10. Bill & Ted Save Rock and Roll
Though Bill and Ted became accomplished musicians after an intense 16 month guitar training session in the desert at the end of Bogus Journey, they cannot seem to get the attention they need in the present day to save humanity. The Wyld Stallyns struggle to receive airplay with pop, hip hop, and various terrible cock rock artists dominating the airwaves. In this scenario, Bill and Ted find a way to distribute their music to a mass audience and reanimate the corpse of rock and roll with the help of various former rock stars. Maybe the band can finally recruit Eddie Van Halen after all this time.
