10 Post-Apocalyptic Films That Prove Mankind Is Doomed
3. Carriers (2007)
The film begins in a Super-8 sun drenched filter, the teen occupants speeding down the highway with pictures of the beach in the passenger seat; beautiful girls drinking in the back and surfboards on the roof racks, youd be forgiven for thinking this another teen road flick. This all changes when they meet an SUV barring their path with a little girl coughing up blood in the back. Things immediately go down hill from here until the very end. Carriers painfully peels back all the old genre tropes to show the darker side of humanity; both of the protagonists and the world around them. It demonstrates how a set of rules; seemingly for the good of the pack, are sometimes hugely immoral when it comes to everyone outside of the group. Plus, watching a jockstrap Chris Pine (from Star Trek fame) get shot is quite a rewarding experience.
