10 Precise Moments Horror Icons Stopped Being Scary

2. Twilight - Attack Of The Sparkly Vampires

From Nosferatu to Dracula to all the fanged up bloodsuckers in between, vampires have terrified audiences for generations. Even when not quite hitting the mark, nothing has been quite unredeemable when it comes to the creatures of night. That is - and you all know what's coming here - until Twilight.

The first film of five that solidified movie vampires as a ghost of christmas past, Twilight threw the undead hordes back into their coffins and subsequently nailed them shut: and it was all with the unfolding of one fateful scene. Discovering the secretive high-school hunk is actually a vampire, our wooden leading lady Kristen Stewart is wooed by Edward Cullen, played by a moody Robert Pattinson. In doing so, he reveals he doesn't drink human blood, can read human minds, and best of all: freakin' sparkles when the sun comes out.

If looking like the aftermath of a lush bath bomb isn't enough to throw the whole vampire genre in the bin, the sickly love story that followed it is. Sexy seducers that steal your blood yes, sparkle-boys with powers to sniff out extra stinky blood, no.
