10 Predictions For Quentin Tarantino's Final Movie
2. Killer Crow
From one trilogy to another, Killer Crow has been in the background as the supposed final instalment of Tarantino's 'Revisionist History Trilogy' alongside Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained.
It's one of Tarantino's more heavily-favoured final film options because he's already created it to near-completion. All that's left is to finish it.
Born from the aforementioned Inglourious Basterds, the tale of a black group of soldiers being screwed by the US military and going awol during the same war setting was initially in the film itself, just as a side story to the adventure of the main characters.
So much of the story was cut out of Basterds to "tame my material," in his own words, not to mention a reasonable time limit, that there's enough to make an entire film out of.
"My original idea for Inglourious Basterds way back when was that this (would be) a huge story that included the story that you saw in the film, but also followed a bunch of black troops, and they had been fucked over by the American military and kind of go apesh*t. I have most of that written. It’s ready to go; I just have to write the second half of it. That would be the third of the trilogy... It would be called Killer Crow or something like that."
The film is already laid out. It fits into the universe of another film. It would be another murderous classic and it would probably include Brad Pitt... what more do you want?
