10 Problems Nobody Wants To Admit About The Lord Of The Rings Movies
3. There Are Tons Of Illogical Fallacies
Hardcore fans of The Lord of the Rings would have you believe that the series is full-proof in terms of its epic story, but that's far from the case. Truth is, The Lord of the Rings is riddled with so many illogical fallacies across the the length of its narrative that thinking about them is generally not recommended if you want to preserve your love for the franchise into the future. Seriously: there's one example every, like, two minutes. We're not talking about things such as, hey, why didn't Frodo just hitch a ride on the back of those giant eagles and fly straight to Mount Doom to destroy the One Ring? We're talking about all those annoying coincidences that Peter Jackson packed into his script in order to make things more convenient for himself - the narrative cheats, if you will. Things like, oh, that well-placed sewage pipe at the base of Helm's Deep, for example. C'mon, Jackson! Firstly, why would something like that even be there? Secondly, if it was there, why would it be entirely forgotten about? Or how about the fact that Frodo always sees Sauron whenever he puts on the One Ring, but Bilbo never did? There are tons of these scattered across the length of the trilogy - many of them plain to see, whilst others have been cleverly tucked away, just hoping that you don't spot them.
