10 Properties That Could Be Netflix's Answer To Star Wars
1. The Dark Tower
The Dark Tower is one of the biggest and most well-packed epic franchises ever seen in literature, and therefore the adaptation from 2017 was an unbelievably simplified disappointment.
The Stephen King eight book long saga is filled with a potent mix of genres such as western, fantasy and Sci-Fi. It builds an utterly fascinating world and has some great characters, most notably the lead protagonist Roland Deschain - The Gunslinger.
Even so recently as of this year was a Dark Tower prequel TV series in the works with Amazon Studios. Still, news broke that the pilot would not be going any further due to the high production cost that the show would have needed to work.
It is easy to understand why Amazon thought this was a project too difficult to adapt as the books are very complex, demanding and tough to follow at times, but their loss could be Netflix's gain. Should they take the series and bring it to the screen, it could be an epic fantasy to rival the likes of Harry Potter, Game of Thrones and even Star Wars.
Fans of the King story can only hope that one day it will finally get the strong on screen outing that it deserves.
