With countless references on the big and small screen since its first release back in 1954, Rear Window is one of Alfred Hitchcock's most famous works and widely considered to be amongst his best.

The film stars James Stewart as L. B. 'Jeff' Jefferies, a professional photographer bound to his home after breaking his leg. He sets up a system where he can look out at all of his neighbours in their apartments across from him with his camera, and regularly interacts with his girlfriend named Lisa Fremont, played effortlessly by Grace Kelly.

Things take a dramatic turn one night when Jeff overhears glass shattering and a woman screaming 'Don't!'. From his room, Jeff suspects his neighbour Thorwald of murdering his wife and spies on him bringing a mysterious case inside and out of his apartment, as well as suspicious objects such as handsaws and a large knife.

The film premiered in front of influential faces from the world of entertainment, as well a few officials from the United Nations, and remains an absolute masterpiece in suspense and tension building. The subtle nods and clues Hitchcock leaves lends Rear Window an exceptional amount of replay value, and is sure to leave more than a few audiences with jangled minds after a first watch.
