Vile people doing vile things is just an average Tuesday for the horror genre, as violence and mayhem is the bread and butter of the spooky side of cinema. Sure, you can find villains across all forms of entertainment, but none can hold a candle to the depravity and relentlessness of a good old horror baddie.

However, while they are harsher than your average, even the most brutal antagonists can have a lighter side.

There are many depraved horror villains who have shown a sense of remorse or pity for their victims. For example, Saw's John Kramer is technically attempting to help those he tortures. Additionally, killer icons like Leatherface, Chucky, and Predator have developed positive relationships with regular people.

Still, some villains are so monstrous, merciless, and reprehensible that even the stoutest horror nut will refuse to root for them under any circumstances.

The following ten names fit that bill, as they're so cruel they make your blood boil. If given the option of meeting one of these guys down a dark alleyway or going toe-to-toe with Jason, you'd stand a better chance with the latter.

10. The Psychopath - Angst (1983)

If you're a villain in a horror movie, and the name you're best known by is simply The Psychopath, then you've well and truly done your job.

K, commonly known as The Psychopath, is the lead character of the gruesome and gritty Austrian flick Angst. He's a serial killer with a viscous mind and a complete lack of remorse, performing heinous deeds that would make anyone shudder.

The movie opens with K letting the audience know how excited he is to kill again after his prison release. It then follows his exploits as he relentlessly murders an innocent family and does awful things like drinking a victim's blood, drowning a man with a mental impairment, and even taking the corpses to try and scare his next victims.

One fascinating element of the flick is that the killer narrates the events, giving you a look into his mind. This helps you understand how his traumatic childhood shaped his present, adding a semblance of sympathy. However, that sympathy quickly dries up as he lets you into his cruel and angry psyche.
