10 Reasons Batman: Assault On Arkham Destroys Suicide Squad
9. Batman Has A Big Role (And It's Awesome)
Despite pre-release rumours suggesting that Ben Affleck's Batman would have a significant role in Suicide Squad, he only appears for two brief scenes (and a mid-credits bonus as Bruce Wayne), giving him around three or four minutes of screen time (and that's been generous).
Assault On Arkham places the Dark Knight as a supporting character, but he has a large presence throughout, and it's unique to see him appear in such a capacity throughout the movie.
He's shown to be at odds with Amanda Waller from the outset and is something of a "boogeyman" to the Squad themselves, as evidenced by a thrilling fight scene where he takes the entire team on.
Ultimately, though, the Caped Crusader ends up teaming with the Squad to help bring The Joker down and restore order to Arkham, where the Clown Prince of Crime has let the inmates run free.
Here Batman doesn't feel like a perfunctory character simply to make the movie more marketable and fire up consumer interest, but rather he's a vital component while still not overshadowing the brilliance of the central team.
