10 Reasons Batman V Superman's Ending Is The Stupidest Part Of The Film

6. The Justice League Is Formed Because Of A Dream

In a shocking turn of events, Dawn Of Justice ends with Batman deciding to form the Justice League. Much time was spent pre-release on what this motivating factor will be - will it be Doomsday himself, the emergent threat of Darkseid or will the heroes all realise working together is something they should do for the greater good? Nope, none of those - it's because Batman has a "feeling" they should, a transparent lift from a tired writer's conversation that makes no sense. Of course, we know Bruce Wayne's had a vision of a dark future where Darkseid had ravaged the Earth and all heroes had turned bad, but nobody knows about this. Not even him, really - to Batman that was just a very weird dream; the editing of the Knightmare sequence makes its exact nature hard to define, but as Bruce is seen waking up twice (once from the future, the second from Flash's warning) there's no reason he should take it seriously. And that's before we get to how, even if he did buy it, Superman's death should surely mean all the horror has been averted anyway. Look, the Justice League set-up in the movie was flat-out awful, making Marvel's less-than-subtle attempts look deft, but this is just ill-thought-out. And surely it'll be rendered moot when Supes does return?
