10 Reasons Disney Needs To Make Solo 2 Happen
1. More Live Action Maul
As already stated, it was almost unfair teasing Maul to fans who had been calling for his live action return for years at the end of Solo, only for him to appear as nothing more than a hologram cameo with the express purpose of selling action figures and lightsaber toys.
As exhilarating as it was to see Maul on the silver screen for the first time in two decades, it is quite deflating to watch Solo now and know that, unlike Darth Vader in the brilliant closing sequence of Rogue One, Maul just doesn't do anything.
And while the most devoted Star Wars fans who have religiously watched The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels will be intimately familiar with Maul's story arc, fans of the films unfamiliar with the expanded canon would have probably been just a bit confused to see a Sith Lord they last saw die at the hands of Obi-Wan on Naboo in a movie about Han Solo, a character as removed from the Force and the binary of the Jedi and Sith as you can get.
The Clone Wars finale tracked Maul's CGI movements to Ray Park's expert choreography, leading to one of the most exhilarating lightsabers duel of the franchise, but fans have been calling for more cinematic Maul action for a years.
After dangling Maul in front of fans' eyes, a Solo sequel simply has to give the disgraced Sith Lord more screentime and, vitally, something to do - filling in his arc between The Clone Wars and Rebels while providing an easy explanation to cinema-goers as to why he's returned.
