10 Reasons Iron Man 3 Is The Best Of The Series

9. Humor

iron-man-3-review Fans have learned to expect big laughs from Robert Downey, Jr.€™s Tony Stark since the first footage from Iron Man debuted at San Diego Comic Con in 2007. Each of the first two films has delivered plenty of comedy thanks to Stark€™s trademark wit. In Iron Man 3, the laughs are bigger and more frequent than ever before. Few can match director and co-writer Shane Black€™s ability to transition so smoothly between intense action and side-splitting comic relief. Downey is on top of his game in the latest installment, getting the most out of every quip Black wrote down for him. His delivery is impeccable, especially when calling out and poking fun at action movie clichés, like Tony€™s response to learning Harley€™s dad left the boy and his mother six years ago. Despite telling the most personal, emotionally intense story in the entire series, Black and co-writer Drew Pearce not only managed to break the tension, but also wrote the funniest one-liners in any of the three films. Iron Man 3 will exceed many moviegoers€™ expectations as to how much they will laugh based on their experiences with the first two movies.
