10 Reasons Logan Is The Best X-Men Movie

8. Laura Is The Ultimate Child Mutant

We have of course glimpsed child mutants in the previous X-Men movies, both within the X-Mansion and through flashback sequences for many of the series' more prominent characters.

Laura is the first, however, to feel like a fully fleshed-out character in her own right, which is all the more impressive when you consider she doesn't speak until the final half-hour of the movie.

Child mutants have been used sparingly in previous films because, let's face it, it's a goofy idea on paper that can easily end up looking incredibly silly.

Thankfully due to Dafne Keen's excellent performance and a script that refuses to talk down to her or her character, X-23 proves that child mutants don't have to be a daft gimmick.
