10 Reasons Logan Is The Best X-Men Movie

6. Lower Budget, Stronger Focus

Logan's shooting budget was a sizable but manageable $97 million, placing it at a significantly lower cost than all-but-two of the series' prior movies: the original X-Men ($75 million) and Deadpool ($58 million).

The result is a movie that has the cashflow to look fantastic and rope in stellar talent, but avoids the bloat that leads to excessive CGI spectacles (looking at you, X-Men: Apocalypse) and a desperate need to justify all that expense.

Logan feels like such a singular experience because James Mangold clearly wasn't given the money for any beam-in-the-sky finale (not that there's much indication he wanted to). Moderation and restrictions can be a great thing for creativity.
