8. George Lucas

Say what you will about Mr. Star Wars himself, but the man has created worlds which envelope us all and even change some of our lives. I, for one, was transformed by his galaxy far, far away in my youth, and Lucas, along with Steven Speilberg, instilled in me a love of movies that to this day has never faded, only grown. George Lucas was an integral part in the creation of PIXAR, having planted its roots with The Graphics Group as part of Lucasfilm in 1979.
