8. No Sex Please, Im Christopher Nolan
Female characters, and relationships, get short shrift in Nolans oeuvre. Catwoman aside, he has a worrying tendency to kill off significant women in order to heighten the dramamost egregiously in The Prestige, when Rebecca Hall's suicide makes Christian Bale and Hugh Jackmans magic contest seem pretty bloody childish. Quantum of Solace and Skyfall both pushed their Bond girls to the fringes of the story, and Nolans sexless approach would be unlikely to redress that imbalance and give a strong female character a proper piece of the actionunless hes got an Anne Hathaway-esque angle on Pussy Galore figured out.
