DC really need to remind the world that they kickstarted this genre both on and off the screen, and they need to do it quickly.
Despite having wrote the book on many aspects of superhero-dom, DC have allowed Marvel to assert themselves as the innovators in an array of different mediums. That's got to change, and it starts with jumping off the universe bandwagon that their rivals coined a little under a decade ago.
Wonder Woman was most definitely a trend-setter, but Patty Jenkins' film is the current exception in the company's cinematic endeavours. They should always be looking to raise the bar, and that comes by stepping out of Marvel's shadow, and by pursuing their own vision for their properties.
