7. John Hurt
Youd be hard-pushed to find someone who doesnt in some capacity love John Hurt. Hes the envy of his peers, not just for the roles hes played but for the fact that he always appears to be working. Hes one of a small group of actors who can improve any film simply by being in it for a few minutes, and
Crystal Skull is another example of this. Hurt may not have a great deal to do in the film, beyond a spot of scenery-chewing and delivering the infamous line about the space between spaces. But hes incredibly charismatic, and goes someway in filling in for Marcus Brody, as the character who has brains but is also completely out of his depth. His distinctively gnarled delivery, long hair and distant gaze recall his supporting role in
The Proposition(which, coincidentally, also co-starred Ray Winstone as a government agent-of-sorts). While hes never quite as funny as Brody, hes enjoyable to be around.
