1. Its An Original Piece of Fiction
Perhaps the biggest accolade that you can bestow on Looper is that its a totally original work of fiction that
feels like an adaptation of a book or a graphic novel - and in time when the remake is king no less. There arent enough original works these days if you ask me and the fact that theres no other version of events out there; no other, better, original version. When you walk into Looper, this is it, youre drinking from the source. Were living in a cynical time in which originality is often feared, often shunned as too risky or too unprofitable and I take my hat off to Rian Johnson who really appears to have the cojones to say something that we havent already seen, read, heard or ridden (lookin at you Pirates). Perhaps there
are more new ideas out there after all, despite what Hollywood would have you believe. Bravo Johnson, you blew my mind, and I know for a fact Im not the only one.
