He happily admits this. Pandering to a massive audience is a smart move. Even so, accused of being a filmic Antichrist, it's safe to say Michael Bay has never really been a critical darling, but we can at least all agree that the man knows how to make a box office smash. In terms of cash, at least, his movies are very successful: the nine films to his credit have taken over $4.5 billion at the global box office... Combined Total: $4,585,449,567 In a simple numbers exercise this averages to over half a billion dollars per movie, every movie. Not too shabby. From 1995's Bad Boys through to 2011's Transformers: Dark of the Moon, and no doubt beyond this point, he's attracted more than his fair share of criticism. Some of it justified, maybe, but a lot of it from people who simply don't get what a Michael Bay movie is about. I'm gonna be honest - I like a Michael Bay movie. You know exactly what you're getting; male protagonist, explosions, hot chicks, explosions, military involvement,
explosions. Plenty of bang for your buck and usually over two hours of 'Bayhem." As a self-professed fan of Bayhem (and I'm
