10 Reasons You're Wrong About Venom
2. The Effects Aren't Terrible
Although there certainly are moments where Venom's visual effects don't quite come together, for the most part, the CGI works very well. Even Riot, who can only be described as if the Hulk and Vincent D'Onofrio's Bug from Men in Black had a child, looks perfectly fine.
By far the best effect, however, is the eponymous character in question. It looks so much better than the costume seen in Spider-Man 3, which was slimmer, and constantly exposed the head of Topher Grace, and it looks great in motion, with Venom tearing up skyscrapers, fighting armed men and flailing its tendrils in every direction.
The issue in this case isn't so much the effects, but rather the action in general. When Venom's on screen, they look great. The problem, however, is that we never really get to see the suit unlock its full potential, as most of its screen-time stems from it eating thugs, rather than duking it out with the other symbiotes from the Lethal Protector arc.
