10 Recent CGI Movie Moments You Didn't Notice
9. Black Bolt's Entire Suit - Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness
Marvel Studios has proven in recent years that they've basically mastered the art of CGI costumes - remember that the time-travelling suits in Avengers: Endgame were 100% digital, and nobody had any clue until Marvel themselves confirmed it.
And in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, they pulled it off again.
Though audiences might've guessed that the iconic Illuminati sequence was basically stitched together from separate takes due to the ensemble cast's differing schedules, who among us noticed that Black Bolt's (Anson Mount) costume was actually entirely CGI?
Behind-the-scenes images have shown Mount wearing a motion-capture leotard while shooting the scene, because a practical Black Bolt suit was never actually made.
It's never been officially explained why this is the case, but considering we know that the Illuminati sequence came together extremely late in production, it's reasonable to assume that Black Bolt's design hadn't been decided yet and this was the most efficient course of action.
All the same, to the naked eye the digital fakery is virtually impossible to spot, even if you're aware of it.
