Is there any fear more universal than getting trapped under a bed that two elderly people are screwing on?
Ti West's deliriously entertaining exploitation throwback X put spunky protagonist Maxine (Mia Goth) through just such a scenario when she attempted to hide from Pearl (Goth) and Howard (Stephen Ure), the murderously horny elderly couple hunting down the cast of a porn film being shot on their property.
More squirm-inducing than any of the movie's brutal kills is the stomach-knotting sequence where Maxine hides under the couple's bed, only for them to enter the bedroom, have a heart-to-heart, and then start having loud, intense old-people sex.
All a thoroughly traumatised Maxine can do is slowly try to slide herself out from under the bed and flee the area, and due to the vigorousness of their shagging, Pearl and Howard thankfully don't notice her movements.
