5. A Genuinely Funny Cameo - The Fall Guy
The Fall Guy may have bombed at the box office, but it was a fun movie that made the best of the chemistry between Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, and in particular, the comedic chops of the former.
The story tells of director Jody Moreno (Blunt) trying to make her film, Metalstorm. Gosling plays Colt Seavers, stuntman to lead actor Tom Ryder (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), who gets embroiled in a murder mystery. Though Ryder tried to frame him, Colt ultimately proved himself innocent, allowing the production of the movie to continue properly.
There were two post-credit scenes to The Fall Guy, the first of which offered a genuinely surprising and fun cameo. The Metalstorm trailer was being shown at San Diego Comic-Con, and now featured none other than Jason Momoa in the lead role. This was made even better by the subtle foreshadowing of his appearance, with a post-it note on Tom Ryder's wall pondering on how exactly to spell the actor's surname.
The second scene, which featured cameos from the original stars of the Fall Guy TV show in the 1980s, Lee Majors and Heather Thomas, showed Ryder's death as he was blown up after wandering onto a pyrotechnics set. This led to the call to Momoa's agent, and tied everything up in a nice, surprisingly funny bow.
