10 Recent Movie Reshoots That Were INSANELY Obvious

1. The Family Flashback - Shazam! Fury Of The Gods

In the case of Shazam! Fury of the Gods, director David F. Sandberg probably figured you might notice this reshoot, given that it involved recreating a scene from the original Shazam but updating the costumes and replacing original adult Mary actress Michelle Borth with Grace Caroline Currey (who initially played her younger iteration).

Mid-way through the sequel, we see a flashback to the end of the first movie, where Shazam (Zachary Levi) snaps Dr. Sivana's (Mark Strong) magic staff in two, while surrounded by his superpowered Shazam Family.

If you haven't seen the first Shazam! in a while, you might admittedly assume this was simply footage recycled from it, and yet, because Sandberg felt that the more cartoonish costumes from the original movie clashed with their more sleek, muted new designs, he instead had the flashback reshot.

The biggest giveaway is probably Michelle Borth's absence, but given that Borth and Currey look incredibly alike, if you're not familiar with Borth already you might not notice.

This reshoot is a pretty fair effort all things considered, though it's surprising they went to the effort of re-assembling the cast rather than just digitally painting over the original shot with the new costumes and cast change.
