10 Recent Movies Critics Hated (But Audiences LOVED)

Now we're getting into the movies that had frankly ridiculous, tidal differences in opinion between critics and audiences.

Star-studded Netflix blockbuster Red Notice hit the streaming service late last year and was sold as their boldest attempt at a "real" blockbuster movie yet, what with its massive budget, trio of A-list stars, and breezy globetrotting plot.

Being able to review it from the comfort of their home didn't much endear critics to the film, which was slammed for its unimaginative, generic action-adventure movie stylings, and for failing to make the most of the potential-rich casting of Ryan Reynolds, Dwayne Johnson, and Gal Gadot.

But much like Uncharted, Red Notice proved that general audiences are far more enthusiastic about big, silly action flicks that don't make you think too hard, as it racked up a staggeringly impressive 92% approval.

This led to the film becoming the most-watched Netflix Original movie of all time, racking up a massive 364 million hours viewed within its first 28 days on the platform, beating out other Netflix hits such as Don't Look Up, Bird Box, and Extraction.

While it can't be discounted that audiences might've gone a little easy on Red Notice because they didn't have to drive to a cinema to watch it - not to mention the novelty of such a huge movie going direct-to-streaming - the metrics speaks for themselves.

As such it's little surprise that Netflix is planning to shoot two sequels back-to-back whenever the stars' schedules align.
