10 Recent Movies Ruined By Their Marketing
1. Love Lies Bleeding
While it might be a bit of a stretch to say that the marketing outright ruined A24's new romantic crime thriller Love Lies Bleeding, it did nevertheless pointlessly spoil one of the film's funniest gags. Oh, and it also happens to be the very end of the movie.
So yeah, spoilers ahead for Love Lies Bleeding if you haven't seen it yet.
The main trailer concludes by showing Kristen Stewart and Katy O'Brian's protagonists driving a truck with a dead body in the back, but here comes the twist - the "corpse" isn't quite dead.
It's an intriguing hook for the movie itself, except as anyone who's seen it will know, this is actually the final scene of the film, and blatantly spoils that a certain character believed to have been killed earlier in the story is still very much alive.
Anyone watching the film who remembers the trailer will know that this character isn't dead the moment they see them rolled up in carpet, and so you have to wonder why A24 needlessly spoiled such an amusing climactic stinger.
