9. Grand Isle

10 Minutes Gone Bruce Willis

As much as Nicolas Cage has enjoyed a run of entertainingly experimental movies lately such as Mandy and Color Out of Space, his industrious work in the bargain bin thriller genre continues regardless.

And so we have Grand Isle, a Lousiana-set melodrama in which Cage plays a booze-soaked war vet who may or may not be plotting to murder his wife.

Cage is at least in the movie for longer than he tends to be in these VOD thrillers, but the film is depressingly low on the now-expected "Nic Cage Losing His S**t" moments, and for the most part he seems as bored and uninterested as the audience.

Look, it could be much worse - for starters, it's "only" 97 minutes long - but considering it stars one of the most dynamic and unpredictable actors on the planet, its biggest crime might be how stunningly dull it is.
