7. Kingsman: The Blue Blood

Another prospective sequel that may possibly be affected by the changing Hollywood landscape is Kingsman: The Blue Blood, the fourth film in the hit action franchise and a direct follow-up to 2017's The Golden Circle.

Director Matthew Vaughn stated that a sequel to The Golden Circle was in development before that film even hit cinemas, and in September 2020 he confirmed its provisional title. But there are two major obstacles standing in the way of it ever coming to fruition.

First and foremost, it's looking increasingly likely that the soon-to-release prequel The King's Man is going to bomb at the box office, due to both massive competition from Spider-Man: No Way Home and The Matrix Resurrections, and the fact it's been sitting on the pandemic shelf for so long that audiences have largely lost interest.

It's difficult to imagine Disney, who effectively inherited the franchise when they acquired Fox, rolling the dice on a fourth Kingsman if The King's Man fails to recoup its hefty $100-ish million budget.

Beyond that, given that The Golden Circle - which received wildly mixed reviews - released back in September 2017, Disney may simply feel that too much time has passed for audiences to turn out en masse for another go-around.

It'll ultimately hinge on The King's Man's box office performance, which would need to surprise every film industry pundit going to be even a modest success.
