The terrible Howard The Duck movie saw the titular character arrive on Earth when a dimensional-jumping device was aimed at his planet and he caught caught in one of its tests. Upon his arrival, he met Beverley Switzler (Back To The Future's Lea Thompson) and saved her from a group of thugs, which prompted her to allow him to stay at her apartment as a thank you. After unsuccessfully trying to "assimilate" himself into Earth's population, Howard resigned himself to having to find a way home and, one night, after a discussion about that topic with Beverley, she jokingly came onto him, citing how she might find love in the animal kingdom and how she was attracted by his animal magnetism.
