Stanley Kubrick's final film is best remembered for its deeply unsettling orgy sequence, where protagonist Dr. Harford (Tom Cruise) infiltrates a sinister sexual ritual and finds himself threatened by the master of ceremonies.

His bacon is saved, however, by a mysterious masked woman who warned him earlier that he was in danger, making a non-specific sacrifice in order to "redeem" him.

And though this masked woman is played by model Abigail Good, it was revealed in a recent 20-year retrospective of the sequence that the woman's voiced was actually dubbed over by none other than Cate Blanchett. Kubrick's longtime assistant Leon Vitali was the one to spill the beans, saying:

"We wanted something warm and sensual but that at the same time could be a part of a ritual. Stanley had talked about finding this voice and this quality that we needed. After he'd died, I was looking for someone. It was actually Tom and Nicole who came up with the idea of Cate. She was in England at the time, so she came into Pinewood and recorded the lines."

Given that this was never even hinted at prior to this past summer, it's pretty damn shocking that such a juicy secret was kept quiet for two entire decades. How on Earth could Blanchett resist not talking about having a cameo in Kubrick's final film?
