Featuring a body count well over three figures, gunfights both during a sex scene and free-falling from a plane, plenty of inventive kills and Monica Bellucci as a lactating prostitute, Michael Davis' preposterous B-movie is one of the great guilty pleasure action flicks of the last decade. Shoot Em' Up is ludicrously over the top entertainment that never takes itself seriously, proven by the use of the seemingly-innocuous carrot as a deadly weapon. Not only does Clive Owen's Mr. Smith punch the root vegetable through the back of somebody's head (yes, that happens), but in the final scene he uses a carrot as a makeshift trigger finger to gun down several henchman with his hands wrapped in bandages.
I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
