10 Scariest Shark Movies You've Never Seen

7. From The Depths

A tale centred on a shark attack survivor dealing with PTSD, 2020's From the Depths can at times be a little daft, but in amongst that are some genuinely terrifying scenes.

Here, Liz is the sole survivor of a shark attack that saw her boyfriend and older sister killed. Struggling to shake the traumatic memories of this incident, our lead character is plagued by visions of the deceased duo, not to mention plagued by images of sharks at every turn.

It's with those shark visions that the movie goes a little too goofy - such as an awfully rendered giant CGI shark floating down a corridor or creeping behind the curtains of Liz's psychiatrist's office - but the film has some massively impactful scares when it delivers several flashbacks of this shark attack.

The less is more approach of these sequences works extremely effectively, with the camera focussing fairly close-up on Liz as she's floating in a body of water at night, waiting to be next on the menu for the shark that's already devoured her lover and her elder sibling.
