20 Most Anticipated Horror Movies Of 2027

The horror movies that will rule 2027.

Most Hyped 2027 Horror Movies
Netflix

2026 has been one hell of a year for horror so far, what with the likes of Obsession, Backrooms, Hokum, Send Help, and 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple delivering some of the boldest and most uncompromising genre trips imaginable. And that's to name just a few.

But we're only just half-way through the year, and hopefully the next six months will offer up even more quality horror content - especially as we approach Spooky Season.

Yet it's always fun to look forward past the immediate calendar year and consider what we'll be able to watch in the slightly further future - in this case next year.

If this list of horror films is any indication, 2027 is going to ably follow 2026's lead and be another absolutely stacked year for genre fans.

From long-awaited sequels in long-dormant franchises to entirely original stories from hot new filmmakers, and adaptations that positively drip with potential, these should be the horror films on everyone's lips - for good reason, at least - next year.

Considering their enormous potential, they just can't arrive soon enough...

20. The Mummy 4

The Mummy
Universal Pictures

Ever since The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor brought the original Brendan Fraser-starring trilogy to a risible conclusion in 2008, fans have campaigned for a fourth film to end things right.

And with Fraser's career resurgence in recent years, the stars finally aligned for The Mummy 4 to actually happen, with Scream and Ready or Not filmmakers Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett - aka Radio Silence - set to helm a script from David Coggeshall (Orphan: First Kill).

Better still, Fraser will be reunited with not only Rachel Weisz - who was controversially replaced by Maria Bello in the previous film - but also John Hannah, who recently teased that fans should expect some surprises.

If the new Mummy can recapture the gloriously pulpy vibe of the original two Fraser movies in particular, then it could be one hell of a nostalgia-soaked thrill-ride, and perhaps even the very highest-grossing horror film of 2027.

The Mummy 4 releases on October 15, 2027.
