10 Scariest Uses Of Force Power In Star Wars History

3. Darth Vader Force Chokes Admiral Motti

Consider this a bookend of the Rogue One hallway fight. While that on-screen display of Force prowess came 40-some years into the Star Wars universe, this moment, only a few minutes into Star Wars, was the first display of Force powers on screen.

It was the first recognition of what kind of villain Darth Vader was. He didn't NEED a lightsaber or a blaster, just a wave of his hand, before someone was on their way to dying. His blank, expressionless mask, hiding the face underneath, made it even more intimidating, as did his simple words : "I find your lack of faith disturbing."

It was apparent he was ready to kill an Imperial Admiral, simply because of a personal insult. It was a completely over the top reaction, designed to instill fear and display power, and laid out very early in the game that Vader saw no one as an equal, especially one who would mock the Force.

And he did it as casually as we would toss something in the trash.

Those thirty seconds left an impression on a generation of movie-goers, for whom Darth Vader became one of the best movie villains ever.
