10 Sci-Fi Fan Theories That Make The Films Better

3. The Indominus Rex Is Part Human - Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Another Jurassic World theory, because this one is too good to leave unshared.

We’re informed early on in 2015’s blockbuster reboot of the “theme park gone wrong” dinosaur adventure series that the Indominus Rex is a perfect predator, engineered from the DNA of various other animals in order to optimize its intelligence, aggression, and ruthlessness.

But what animal is more cruel than… MAN?!

Forgive our hammy delivery there, but you know the old chestnut. Yes, man is amongst the most ruthless and cunning of creatures, which explains why rabbits aren’t razing the Amazon for resources, and John Sayles’ early script for this reboot featured a human-raptor hybrid designed as a weapon for sale to arms manufacturers—which is exactly what Indominus Rex ends up becoming in the next instalment, when he’s auctioned off to the highest bidder at a shady and improbable high stakes arms auction.

Oh, did we mention said auction takes place on an estate which also houses a human clone? Maybe it’s merely coincidence, but this underutilized plot strand and the absurd intelligence of the dinosaur tell us this one was featured in an earlier, more coherent draft of the script.
