10 Sci-Fi Movies That Almost Had Way Better Endings

Narratively, movies go through a number of changes throughout the span of production - and nowhere as much, perhaps, as in their endings. As movie-goers, we've always been fascinated by the thought that a motion picture might have ended in a completely different way; that the filmmakers involved with said movie very nearly cemented the fates of the characters in an entirely other way. Movies endings are changed or swapped out for a number of reasons, of course - be it because the studio are worried that things are too dark and audiences might go away feeling alienated (and would be less likely to recommend the film), or because it's not deemed to be interesting enough. At other times, nobody knows how to end the film. Sci-fi movies, in particular, always seem to get the short end of the stick when it comes to their endings, though: for films renowned for their risk taking and progressive plots, there are a lot of sci-fi pictures that were ultimately doomed with conventional or unsatisfying endings, many of which would have been improved had the studio been brave enough to opt for a number of alternate endings that were scrapped.
