10 Sci-Fi Movies Where The Humans Are The Bad Guys

9. Jurassic Park (1993)

Dennis Nedry Jurassic Park
Universal

A theme park on a remote island populated by full-scale, genetically reconstructed dinosaurs, including the most deadly carnivorous ones. Whoever thought that was a good idea? Why, us dumb humans, of course.

Some of these people, like the kindly John Hammond, are just ridiculously naïve. Others have dollar signs in their eyes right from the get-go, looking to exploit this monumental scientific breakthrough for profit in spite of the danger. This is shown to no better degree than with Jurassic Park's lead computer programmer, Dennis Nedry.

Bribed by one of Hammond's competitors, Nedry deactivates the island's security systems in order to steal a batch of precious dinosaur embryos (and in doing so, ends up setting loose a real-life tyrannosaurus). On the way out of the park, the heavy rain causes him to crash his car, and he is killed by the frill-necked, venom-spitting dilophosaurus.

A classic case of human greed that ultimately ends in hideous, hideous death. All the dinosaurs wanted was a nice meal.
