10 Sci-Fi Movies You Must Never Pause

8. Misato Gets Ripped In Half - The End Of Evangelion

Unlike the aforementioned movies, iconic anime The End of Evangelion isn't hiding any behind-the-scenes tricks or special effects gaffes in plain sight, but in fact something quite horrifying.

In one of the film's most evocative moments, Misato Katsuragi is killed by Japanese Strategic Self-Defense Force (JSSDF) forces after they trigger an explosion.

And because that's not traumatic enough, viewers who scan through the explosion frame-by-frame can find a nauseating hidden visual: the single-frame visage of Misato's body flying through the air, ripped in half.

In the center-top area of the screen her legs and torso are visible, while at the top-left, what remains of her upper-body and head can be seen.
