10 Scrapped Star Wars Movie Scenes Better Than What We Got

6. Phasma's Death - The Last Jedi

As one of the most underutilised characters in the franchise, Captain Phasma had less than four minutes of screen time across The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi before meeting her anticlimactic end aboard the Supremacy, Supreme Leader Snoke's personal dreadnought.

Unfortunately, the death scene for Phasma that made it into the final cut of The Last Jedi is incredibly underwhelming. After a brief battle with Finn, Phasma falls down a seemingly bottomless pit in the burning Supremacy, with the ex-Stormtrooper finally embracing his 'Rebel Scum' identity.

Annoyingly, this feeble scene could have been far better. In a deleted scene, Phasma bests Finn, with Stormtroopers flanking his position. Finn then exposes Phasma as the one who brought down the Starkiller Base shields in The Force Awakens, which makes the Stormtroopers begin to question their captain. Before they can act, Phasma guns them down, only for Finn to shoot her with a heavy blaster.

This scene gave some much-needed focus on Phasma and Finn, as well as giving one of the lamest scenes in The Force Awakens some retroactive dramatic significance.

Still, director, Rian Johnson clearly thought it was more important for Finn to mock 'chrome dome' than give her death scene any tension at all.
