10 Secrets That Made Recent Movies Awesome

9. The Sets & Props Were Subtly Scaled Down To Feel More "Toy-Like" - Barbie

And what better film to follow up with, then, than the other end of the Barbenheimer sandwich - Greta Gerwig's phenomenally successful Barbie.

Of course the movie is defined by its smart, funny script and killer cast, yet just as much of a character as anything else in the film is its evocative, likely-to-be-Oscar-nominated production design.

But there was far more to Barbieland's huge sets than just splashing pink all over the place - many buildings and props were scaled-down to feel more toy-like when the actors interacted with them.

For instance, the Barbie Dreamhouse's rooms had their scale reduced by 23% from life-size measurements to make the actors feel smaller, and similarly, Barbie's pink 1956 Chevrolet Corvette was made smaller to more closely resemble how the toy version of the Covette looks when Barbie sits in it.

This is surely something few watching would've ever consciously thought about, but your brain probably picked up on it in some way regardless.
