Release Date: March 25, 2016 My Big Fat Greek Wedding was a huge cultural phenomenon back in 2002, in which every other person on the planet ended up going to see it (or face extreme public ridicule). Which meant that, against the odds, the movie wound up grossing $368 million on a ridiculously tiny budget of $5 million. You don't have to be a genius to know that's good. Now, 13 years later, some producer somewhere presumably realised that the sheer amount of profit made by that first picture was downright insane, and so a sequel should exist - you know, just in case people are still into My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Not that you've heard anybody mention this movie even once since it first came out, right? Anyway, My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 will once again star actress Nia Vardalos in a movie based on a script she wrote (she also penned the first one). Is it too late for this? Does the world need My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2? Probably not, but then again the world didn't need that first movie, either, and people lapped that thing up like crazy. Like crazy.
